The Vatican museum was the most worthwhile, enriching tourist sight that I’ve ever experienced. Between the never-ending paintings, tapestries, and sculptures, I left the sight completely in awe, with an incredible reverence for our history’s artists and craftsmen. Rome’s architecture greatly shows the city’s antiquity, and the Vatican compilation was a concentrated, amplified version of this entrenched history. The building is huge so plan on taking a couple hours to wind your way through, and it’s best to buy tickets ahead of time if you don’t want to wind your way through a three hour line prior to entering.
